Serving Tigray's youth and their families since 2021.
Aboy for Tigray is a non-profit community-based counseling agency that offers no-cost, time-limited counseling and case management services to Tigrayan families, primarily in the Diaspora.
AFT was founded in 2021 in response to the #tigraygenocide, which occurred on November 4, 2020. AFT addresses the need by developing a specialized counseling program for youth and their families in order to raise community awareness of AboyforTigray services by educating individuals and the community about the nature of mental health, both in terms of prevention and the need for peoples' support; and to foster strong partnerships with all people involved in dealing with mental health concerns.
In addition to our services, AFT will draw attention to accounts of people who have been sexually assaulted as well as those who have been harmed by Ethiopian, Eritrean, and other foreign rebels.

Our organization focuses predominantly- on mental health crisis intervention, which refers to strategies that provide urgent, short-term assistance to people who are experiencing emotional, mental, physical, or behavioral discomfort or issues as a result of an occurrence. Our organization has some of the finest, teagru therapists who are able to successfully assist those who are in-need of immediate therapy treatment. #tigraygenocide

Aboy for Tigray aims to serve and emphasize Tigrayan women and girls who have been sexually assaulted, harassed, or mistreated by offering mental health guidance to enhance community awareness and healing for all. Aboy for Tigray is a program that concentrates on the well-being of Tegaru worldwide.
In addition to providing counseling services via virtual for diaspora Tegaru, AboyforTigray intends to construct a mental healthcare facility in Tigray's capital city where individuals can come and converse in a secure atmosphere to achieve optimum mental and emotional wellness; in the long term. We aim to empower as many Tigrayans to thrive and heal as a community.
Aboy for Tigray is a non-profit organization. Aboy for Tigray is a charitable organization. All revenue will be used for our long-term construction facility. Our ultimate goal is to provide mental health support while also educating, highlighting reports of sexually assaulted survivors, and raising awareness about the ongoing genocide in Tigray, Ethiopia.

Aboy For Tigray is committed to increasing our efforts to address this issue.
On November 4, 2020, Ethiopia's unelected prime minister, Abiy Ahmad, started a genocidal attack on Tigray, the country's northernmost regional state, in collaboration with Eritrea's President, Isaias Afwerki. Since then, his administration has hampered and prohibited millions of Tigrayan civilians from gaining access to electricity, relief, food, and water. Ethiopian forces, Eritrean troops, and Amhara Militias have perpetrated severe war crimes and ethnic cleansing under the leadership of Abiy and Isaias, including massacring people, weaponizing famine, and weaponizing sexual and gender-based violence against women and girls. Since the beginning of the conflict in Tigray, at least 829 incidents of sexual assault have been documented at five operational hospitals, and the reported cases are believed to represent "the tip of the iceberg."
Victims included children and pregnant women.
